NCM4A Faith Health Caucus Meetings

The NC Medicare For All Faith Health Caucus is focused on mobilizing people of faith in the fight for healthcare justice. They have a leadership team meeting on the 3rd Tuesday of the month. They also host an occasional online workshop, featuring different speakers and topics related to healthcare. If you'd like to join the faith-based movement to fight for universal healthcare, then get on their email list and share your voice with the leadership team ([email protected]). You can also attend their information workshops. You can register for the meetings here: https://www.ncm4a.org/maternal_health_workshop

The May event will take place on Tuesday, May 16th at 7pm and will feature our guest speaker, Tara Owens Shuler, MEd, LCCE, CD (DONA), Lamaze Program Co-Director, who will be leading a discussion on "Why We Need Doulas to Reduce Maternal Mortality."

The Faith Health Caucus has an exciting year planned to help our communities while we fight for Medicare for All! Our first event will be all about doulas. Did you know that doulas can reduce maternal mortality? So we want every woman and birthing person to have access to a doula!

Additionally, later this year we will be hosting a workshop on the new Medicaid expansion bill, who is eligible, and how people can sign up! We will also be talking to our local faith communities about why healthcare for all is an important issue! We hope you join us on this journey.

You can watch the June Meeting talk about "The Urgent Need for Medicare For All' given by Rebecca Cerese on the NCM4A Coalition YouTube Channel.
